Neglect seems to be a constant with this site and my posting to it. So it’s fitting that this computer that I made for myself, which has been running successfully for almost 3 years, should go onto the site now.
I wanted something unique with a Japanese aesthetic. I took some scraps of cherry, maple, plexiglas and heavy bond paper to make Shoji screen doors. Ash was used for the main box frame. I cnc’d a thin piece of sapele to make a vent for the bottom and cherry strips in a Senbon-koushi style Kumiko for the top vent. Final thing is a front piece of cherry cnc’d with a tree and what is supposed to say carpenter in Japanese, backed with sapele for contrast.
